How to guide: Which MAPS indicators can I calculate with OCDS data
This guidance helps you quickly assess which quantitative indicators from Pillar II and Pillar III from the Methodology for Assessment of Procurement Systems (MAPS), could be calculated with OCDS data, based on the availability of fields included in the publication.
We selected a list of 29 indicators that could be calculated using contracting data. For each indicator we reviewed which OCDS fields were needed for its calculation, which alternative fields could be used and what is the calculation method.
The guidance is accompanied by a notebook to quickly run the assessment of the availability of fields of any OCDS publisher.
This resource aims to facilitate the task of running a MAPS assessment. It helps the users identify quickly the scope of some of the indicators and if it’s possible to calculate them for the country of interest. Since all the countries have different procurement systems and data sources, this resource can facilitate the task of identifying for different countries what metrics are possible to track, since it uses standardized open procurement data that reduces ambiguity and allows for easy comparison. The resource does not require the users to write any code.
