Infographic: How Paraguay attracts small businesses to procurement

As part of our Lift impact accelerator program, a team of representatives from Paraguay’s government, civil society, and the private sector set out to increase MSMEs’ participation in the procurement market. 

Drawing on what they are learning and measuring using available open contracting data, they implemented a strategy that simplifies the bidding process for MSMEs, enhances their capacity to bid, and leverages technology to connect them with opportunities.

Thanks to open contracting reforms, small businesses in Paraguay are now bidding more and winning more in the country’s procurement market. 72% of the small
businesses that participated in the market after the Lift project started won a contract.
