Open Procurement with Impact: How?

Organisation: Government of the Netherlands, Open Contracting Partnership, Open state foundation. Location: Koninklijk Instituut van de Tropen, Amsterdam &Virtual

Public procurement is a powerful tool to achieve social impact and environmental transition. Governments across the EU are looking for ways to make procurement work for social equality, economic opportunity and a green transition. All of which are at the core of the Recovery plans of the EU countries. Openness and transparency is key in achieving these goals.

Together with the Ministry of the Interior of the Netherlands and the Open State Foundation, this conference will bring together leaders in government and civil society.

It offers the biggest platform for discussion in 2022 in the areas of transparency, technology and innovation in public procurement. It will explore how we can make procurement better using open data, technology, and stakeholder engagement. How can open procurement help achieve better outcomes including more competition, inclusion, and sustainability? How can we overcome existing challenges in barriers in publishing public procurement data, how can we deal with challenges such as commercial sensitivity, privacy? What are effective mechanisms for engagement and monitoring?
