How governments spend: Opening up the value of global public procurement
The global public procurement market is worth US$13 trillion per annum, by our estimate. This research is the most comprehensive analysis of the size of public procurement to date.
We tried to quantify the value of the market by collecting publicly available contracting records. But there was only sufficient detail to calculate annual spending for records that represent just 3% of the total market’s value. The rest we had to estimate through statistical modelling.
